York senior defensive end Darius Reynolds continues to pile up postseason accolades as he was named a Group 3A first-team selection Thursday morning.
The All-State recognition is Reynolds’ second of his career, having earned second-team All-State honors last season.
Reynolds led a disruptive York defensive line coming off the edge, recording a team-high 79 tackles and 21 tackles for loss. Reynolds also added 8.5 sacks, which was second for York.
York Coach Doug Pereira called Reynolds “one of the most dominant defensive players” the Bay Rivers District has seen in years, and said his combination of speed and power made him a force to be reckoned with.
Another York football player was given All-State honors as 6-foot-1, 350-pound offensive lineman Lee Green was named a second-team selection.
