Boys Basketball: Greene’s 24 Paces WCA Over Steward School

Cle’Von Greene tied for a game-high 24 points as Williamsburg Christian Academy defeated Steward School on the road 71-64 on Thursday.

The first quarter was dominated by Xavier Green, who scored nine of his 14 points in the opening eight minutes of play. Supplemented by Greene’s five first-quarter points, the Eagles held a 12-point lead after one quarter.

Greene took over the second quarter for WCA, scoring 10 points as the Eagles held Steward School’s offense in check. By halftime, WCA held a 44-26 lead.

The second half favored Steward School as Chaise Johnson and his 24 points kept the game within reach.

However, WCA was able to hang on to the win despite a fourth-quarter push from Steward School.

WCA (4-0) will attempt to move to 5-0 when the Eagles host Stonebridge on Tuesday.
