Boys Soccer Roundup: Walsingham, HRA Suffer Setbacks

Max RinaldiWalsingham Academy was blanked by Norfolk Collegiate 2-0 on the road Thursday afternoon.

The Trojans surrendered a first-half goal to Norfolk Colleigate’s Josh Swartz before allowing a second-half goal to Noah Siebert.

Walsingham’s setback drops them to 7-7-1 on the season with an upcoming road game against Peninsula Catholic on Monday.

HRA Falls to Norfolk Academy

Norfolk Academy managed to edge Hampton Roads Academy 2-1 at home Thursday in a battle between two top teams in TCIS.

The first half was dominated by Norfolk Academy, which scored both goals in the opening 40 minutes.

Trailing 2-0 at the half, Hampton Roads Academy got a goal back when Sam Wash found the back of the net unassisted.

The Navigators could not score again and fell in the match by a final of 2-1.

HRA (10-3) will look to rebound when the Navigators hit the road to play Cape Henry on Tuesday.
