The Hampton Roads Academy field hockey team fell to Christchurch 2-1 on the road Friday evening.
Christchurch got goals from Pendo Mugoflue and Caitlyn Ridings, while HRA got its lone goal from Sophie Kingsburg.
HRA (1-2) found itself playing a more defensive style of game as Christchurch nearly doubled its amount of shots on goal. HRA goalkeeper Haven Gardner made eight saves during the loss.
The Navigators will travel to take on Nansemond-Suffolk Acadmey on Oct. 1.
