
Historic Triangle soccer and field hockey players saw plenty of action for their respective colleges last week.
Tabb field hockey alumnus Hollie MacDonald scored a pair of goals in one game, while volleyball players Jenna Hamra and Monique St. Cyr each logged more than 100 assists last week.
Freshman field hockey goalkeeper Kealsie Robles garnered Big East Defensive Player of the Week for her standout efforts against a ranked Michigan State team.

Cross-Country
- Bridgewater senior Emily Mellman (Jamestown) finished 30th in a time of 27:59 during the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Preview on Sept. 11.
Field Hockey
- Old Dominion freshman Kealsie Robles (Tabb) started and recorded four saves while allowing two goals during a 5-2 win against William & Mary on Sept. 11. Also, she was named Big East Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 7 for her performances against No. 19 Michigan State and Kent State the week prior.
- Christopher Newport freshman Abby Cryts (Walsingham Academy) scored a goal during a 2-3 loss against Lynchburg College on Sept. 9.
- Lynchburg College freshman Kayla Copeman (Bruton) scored a goal and recorded an assist during a 3-2 win against Alvernia on Sept. 12. The assist is Copeman’s first of the season.
- Christopher Newport sophomore Alexa Weaver (York) scored a goal and recorded an assist during a 5-1 win against Wesley on Sept. 12.
- University of Virginia junior Macy Peebles (Tabb) had an assist during a 4-3 win against Lousiville on Sept. 11.
- Longwood senior Hollie MacDonald (Tabb) scored a pair of goals during a 2-1 win against Towson on Sept. 11.
Football
- Christopher Newport sophomore Tyrell Noel (Grafton) recorded two tackles during a 24-9 loss to Hampden-Sydney on Sept. 12.
- Bridgewater senior Nicholas Cawthon (Bruton) made five tackles and had a sack during a 38-21 win against Greensboro on Sept. 12.
Golf
- Bridgewater sophomore Christina Herbert (Jamestown) shot a two-round total of 157 during the Denison Women’s Invitational that ended Sept. 7.
Volleyball
- North Carolina Central freshman Sydney Sumner (York) had 50 kills and 40 digs during five matches last week. Sumner is currently third on the team in kills and digs.
- Bridgewater freshman Jenna Hamra (Walsingham Academy) had 113 assists, 26 digs and 17 kills in four matches last week.
- University of West Florida sophomore Monique St. Cyr (Jamestown) logged 148 assists, 32 digs and 14 kills during four matches last week.
- Methodist University sophomore Maggie Harris (Walsingham Academy) had 69 assists and 21 digs during a pair of matches Sept. 12.
