The Virginia High School League announced Thursday scheduling changes for the state wrestling tournaments slated for Friday and Saturday in Salem.
The VHSL has decided to push up Friday’s start time up by an hour due to potential weather concerns in Salem on Saturday.
The quarterfinal rounds will now begin at 2 p.m. with the semifinals tentatively scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m — both an hour earlier than previously scheduled.
Saturday’s schedule still remains fluid due to weather concerns. The final round of bouts is slated to start at 2:30 p.m.
Bruton will compete in Group 2A state championships, while Lafayette and Warhill will wrestle in the 3A classification. Grafton, Tabb and Jamestown will represent the Historic Triangle in Group 4A.
