Girls Basketball Roundup: Warhill Makes Easy Work of West Point

warhillA nine-point second quarter by Olivia Schulz, who finished with 17 points, helped Warhill dispatch West Point 60-33.

Warhill was limited offensively in the first quarter, sinking three field goals — all of which were 3-pointers. The Lions carried a narrow 12-8 lead into the second quarter before exploding offensively.

Warhill began finding and converting on easy looks in and around the paint to open up a 33-18 halftime lead.

The third quarter was more of the same as Warhill kept attacking the paint, as well as sprinkling in a pair of 3-pointers for good measure. During the third quarter, the Lions played smothering defense, holding West Point to a mere six points.

Madison Heath and Kasey Grainer each finished with 10 points for Warhill, while Alayna Cormier added 12.
