Keron Dedmon scored 19 points as Warhill’s boys basketball team opened its season with a 74-68 victory on the road at Woodrow Wilson on Monday.
The game was close throughout, although the Lions, who were up 34-27 at the half, led for much of regulation.
Ra’Shawn Cook (14 pts) and Da’Shawn Cook (10 pts) joined Dedmon in double figures along with Jimmel Davis (10 pts).
Warhill (1-0) will travel to play Smithfield in both team’s Bay Rivers District opener Wednesday.
Tabb Stifles Mathews
Tabb held visiting Mathews High scoreless (14-0) after one quarter en route to a 66-25 season-opening victory Monday.
The Tigers (1-0) open Bay Rivers District play on Wednesday at Poquoson.
