
Randolph College sophomore guard Corey Brown, a former all-state point guard for Walsingham Academy, was named to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference’s weekly honor roll for his efforts during the Wildcats’ 67-45 victory over Maritime last week.
Brown played 37 minutes and shot 7 for 11 from the field including 3 for 5 from 3-point range en route to finishing with season highs in points (17) and rebounds (9) as Randolph improved to 7-4 on the season with the win.
Brown has appeared in all 11 games for the Wildcats this season and is averaging 8.3 points, 4.2 rebound and 1.5 steals in roughly 24 minutes per game.
As a freshman, Brown came off the bench in all 28 of Randolph’s contests and averaged 9.8 points over his last six games.
At Walsingham, Brown was a three-time first team all-Tidewater Conference and three-time all-state selection who finished his career with 1,405 points, 690 rebounds, 368 assists, 231 steals and an overall record of 85-34. He shot 55 percent from the field and 48 percent from behind the 3-point arc while averaging 13.1 points and 5.6 rebounds his senior season.
