TIDEWATER CONFERENCE QUARTERFINALS

Hampton Roads Academy 7  Norfolk Collegiate 0

Mauri Ware recorded a hat trick, and Grace Bowen and Tess Lawson each scored twice as HRA rolled to a 7-0 victory over Norfolk Collegiate in the Tidewater Conference quarterfinals Tuesday. The Navigators will take on Norfolk Academy in the tournament semifinals at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex on Wednesday.

 

VOLLEYBALL

TIDEWATER CONFERENCE QUARTERFINALS

Hampton Roads Academy def. Walsingham Academy 27-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-22

Bri Underwood finished with 13 digs and 12 kills and Laura Killough added 20 digs and seven aces as No. 4 HRA outlasted No. 5 Walsingham in four sets Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the Tidewater Conference tournament. Emma Schellpeper led the Trojans with 25 digs and 18 kills.

BAY RIVERS DISTRICT (Regular Season)

Lafayette def. Warhill 20-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-22, 15-11

Julia Howard tallied 28 assists and 20 digs as Lafayette overcame a 2-1 deficit to beat Warhill in five games Tuesday. Alyssa Alpino added 15 digs in the effort for the Rams while Abby Oren finished with 12 kills. Alex Koon paced the Lions with 20 digs, 15 kills and four aces.

Grafton def. Poquoson 25-15, 25-18, 25-22

Christa Hall finished with 36 assists, Hannah Williams added 14 digs and Lexi Austin chipped in with 10 kills as Grafton cruised past Poquoson in three games Tuesday. Kendall Mahony contributed nine kills, six digs and four aces in the win for the Clippers.

New Kent def. Bruton 25-22, 25-11, 25-16

Bruton fell to New Kent in three games on the road Tuesday despite 13 digs from Alexis Calloway, nine digs and three blocks from Shayla Hillian and nine kills from Sydney Jamison.

Jamestown def. Tabb 25-9, 25-15, 25-9

Monique St. Cyr filled up the stat sheet with 28 assists, nine aces, nine digs and five kills as Jamestown breezed past Tabb in three games on Senior Night. Maria Esch added 11 digs and three aces for the Eagles, who won recorded their 47th consecutive victory at home with the win.
