SOFTBALL
Warhill 3 Smithfield 2 (9 Innings)
Colby Norris pitched a complete game with seven strike outs and drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning as Warhill handed host Smithfield its second loss of the season in one of the biggest upsets in the Bay Rivers District this season.
Bridget Henzel gave the Lions (7-9 BRD) a 1-0 lead with an RBI double that drove in Norris in the top of the first inning. With Warhill trailing 2-1 in the seventh, Norris tripled before scoring on Hannah Brown’s two-out single. Then, after driving in what proved to be the eventual game-winning run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth, Norris stranded a runner on third in the Packers (14-2) bottom half of the frame to close the door.

Molly Rogerson (5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 SO) picked up her 10th win of the season and went 2-4 at the plate with two RBIs and a pair of runs scored to lead York past Bruton 10-1. The Falcons improved to 10-6 on the season with the victory.
