Earlier this week, Walsingham Academy’s golf team got a surprise visit from LPGA pros Kathleen Ekey and Laura Diaz while honoring the Trojans’ two seniors, Trevor Caccetta and Emily Nolan, on Senior Night.
Ekey and Diaz, who offered a few tips and pointers during their congratulatory visit, are both competing in this weekend’s LPGA Kingsmill Championship.
Caccetta and Nolan finished the final home match of their prep careers in style as the Trojans edged Norfolk Academy by a narrow one-shot margin, 177-178, on Tuesday.
Caccetta, who will attend George Mason University in the fall, took home medalist honors after carding a two-over par 38, while Nolan, headed to the University of Alabama, was second on the team with a 43.
They will compete in the upcoming TCIS tournament on Monday, May 13, before heading to states on the 20th.
