Beginning with the 2013-14 school year, current Williamsburg Christian Academy assistant athletic director David Clark will take over as lead athletic administrator.

Clark, who joined WCA’s athletic department as an assistant last July, was recently recognized as a certified athletic administrator by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association after demonstrating the highest level of knowledge and expertise in the field of interscholastic athletic administration.  The voluntary certification process included a thorough evaluation of educational background, experience and professional contributions, as well as a rigorous, comprehensive written examination.

Clark will take over for current A.D. John Perkins, who has voluntarily headed WCA’s athletic department for the past decade in addition to serving as the school’s varsity girls basketball coach.

“I am very excited to be part of the WCA athletic program,” said Clark. “I know God has used WCA in a great way to impact the Williamsburg area, and I am looking forward to seeing how He will continue to bless and use WCA in the future.”

Said Perkins, “I am extremely pleased that David Clark has accepted the athletic director position here at WCA for the next school year. We conducted an extensive job search, and David came on board as my assistant this past July. He has really done a great job and I believe he will continue to as he moves into the A.D. position.”

According to a press release from the school, WCA is grateful for Perkins’ leadership of the athletic program into greater realms of excellence and competition.

Head of School Gwen Martin added, “We look forward to John Perkins’ continued participation in WCA athletics, and rejoice in God’s provision for our school’s athletic future led by Mr. David Clark.”
