In light of the inclement weather last week, several athletic contests were postponed until Saturday, and then to today (Monday, January 28th), as roads in the area were still a bit icy over the weekend.
So, here’s a look at the updated athletic schedule for Monday evening:
BOYS BASKETBALL
Tabb at New Kent, 7 p.m., New Kent High (rescheduled from Jan. 18)
Grafton at Smithfield, 7 p.m., Smithfield High (rescheduled from Jan. 25)
York vs. Poquoson, 7 p.m., York High (rescheduled from Jan. 26)
Jamestown’s home game vs. New Kent was also canceled Friday, although no makeup date has been determined yet. Friday’s Warhill-Lafayette contest has been moved to February 8th at Warhill High.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Grafton vs. Smithfield, 7 p.m., Grafton High (rescheduled from Jan. 26)
York vs. Poquoson, 6:30 p.m., York High (rescheduled from Jan. 26)
Bruton’s home game vs. Tabb, originally scheduled for last Friday, has been moved to Feb. 8th.
Additionally, Williamsburg Christian Academy’s boys’ and girls’ basketball teams were slated to take on Norfolk Christian Saturday, but both games were canceled with no makeup date scheduled as of Sunday night.
Walsingham’s boys’ and girls’ hoops teams were also scheduled to play Norfolk Collegiate on Saturday, although both games were called off with no set makeup date determined.
HRA’s boys and girls have rescheduled their home double-header to February 2 (girls @ 2 p.m. & boys @ 3:30 p.m.).
