The Virginia Duals, one of largest wrestling tournaments in the state held annually at the Hampton Coliseum, began Friday morning and will continue throughout the day Saturday.
Seven teams from the Bay Rivers District – Tabb, Grafton, York, Jamestown, Poquoson, Smithfield, New Kent – will compete in two of the three different high-school divisions.
There are three high-school divisions and two college divisions that bring 72 teams – most from Virginia although some have made the trip from New Jersey and other East Coast states – to the area.
Bay Rivers District powers New Kent and Smithfield will compete in the National Division while Tabb, York, Grafton, Jamestown and Poquoson will compete in the Black and Blue Division.
