Second Annual Williamsburg Baseball Expo Coming Up

Local baseball players will have a great opportunity to gear up for the upcoming season when Virginia Venom and Colonial Baseball Instruction team up to host the second annual Williamsburg Baseball Expo at the WISC later this month.

The event, which will be held from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Jan. 20, will offer participants the chance to sample some of the latest, top-of-the-line equipment and order merchandise on-site at a discount price.

The number of vendors attending is supposed to double over last year’s inaugural event, drawing Easton, Mizuno, Louisville Slugger and DeMarini. In addition, recently opened businesses in Williamsburg Swing Kingz and HomeRun Junkie will also be in attendance.

A variety of educational sessions will also be held throughout the four-hour event, including top 5 hitting drills and pitching mechanics. Live demonstrations will be given by area coaches, including Jamestown High’s Mike Kuebler and Walsingham’s Ian Heisel.

The cost is $5 per person – $3 to any player wearing a youth baseball jersey or shirt – and includes the chance to win Vendor giveaways and door prizes, such as an autographed bat signed by all-star outfielder Andrew McCutchen of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
