WILLIAMSBURG— Streamline Roofing celebrated its 9th Annual Raise the Roof recipient, Sara Linda Howard, during a special “Raise the Roof at the Ballpark” event held April 18 at Plumeri Park, where the William & Mary Tribe baseball secured a win over the College of Charleston.
Now in its ninth year, the Raise the Roof, Raise the Community initiative provides a new roof to a deserving member of the community. This year’s celebration marked a new chapter as Streamline Roofing, the Official Roofing Partner of Tribe Athletics, brought the initiative to the ballpark.
Howard, a cherished member of the Williamsburg community, is part of the Ashby-Jimmerson-Howard blended family, known for its longstanding commitment to service. A past NAACP president and active member of Historic First Baptist Church, she has dedicated her life to loving God and serving others. She is also involved with the Daughters of Elks, Colonial Temple #380, where she remains active in many community efforts.
Despite profound personal loss, Howard’s faith and strength remain unwavering. In December 2019, she lost her husband, Kirby Howard, a retiree of William & Mary Postal Services. In April 2020, she experienced the loss of her two eldest daughters, Robyn Ashby and Sherri Ashby, just days apart. Even through these challenges, she continues to actively serve her church and community, advocating for unity, awareness, and compassion.
In her honor, one of her daughters, Nina Jimmerson, threw the ceremonial first pitch during the game. Howard’s family and friends gathered to celebrate the occasion, enjoying a beautiful afternoon at the ballpark.

For nine years, Streamline Roofing’s Raise the Roof initiative has supported individuals, families, and local organizations in need, continuing to expand its impact across the region.
