Harmon Neil Gordon, 81, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, surrounded by family he loved so deeply.
Born in Newport News, VA, Harmon grew up in Hampton Roads before building a beautiful life with his wife, Kathleen S. Gordon, whom he married in 1967. Together, they raised three daughters—Angela Gordon, Lauren Mowbray, and Julie Thompson—instilling in them the values of love, loyalty, and laughter.
A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in accounting, Harmon dedicated over 30 years of service as an accountant for the Federal government. He was devoted to his family and took joy in life’s simple pleasures—especially days spent at the beach, where the ocean breeze eased his spirit.
Harmon was predeceased by his loving parents, Joseph Gordon (1975) and Rae S. Gordon (1998). He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; daughters, Angela, Lauren, and Julie; sons-in-law, Brian Mowbray and Randy Thompson; and his cherished grandchildren: Jacob Lamarche, Michael Lamarche, Samantha Gordon, Dylan Gordon, and Ryan Thompson.
He will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his sense of style, his quick wit, and a sense of humor that could light up any room. Harmon’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and the countless memories he created with those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
