Betty Irene Drewry, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, in Middlesex, Virginia, at the age of 80.
Born on September 7, 1945, in Clintwood, Virginia, she was the cherished daughter of the late Worley Rose and Eva Mullins Rose.
Betty dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was selling items, fixing things around the house, or spending sunny days at the beach. Her love for family gatherings was evident, as she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed watching television, finding comfort in the stories that unfolded on the screen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Worley and Eva Rose, and her siblings, Izzeta Hogge, Bobby Rose, Wayne Rose, and Faye Hinson.
Betty leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family: her children, Janice Drewry, Pam Guerrero, Tony Drewry, and Becky Probst; her siblings, Ronnie Rose, Larry Rose, Ruth Rose, and Lenny Rose; as well as 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on Wednesday, April 8th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a service at 12 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Denbigh Chapel, located at 12893 Jefferson Ave., Newport News, VA 23608.
Betty’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
