Charles Franklin Tate, 74, of Highland Springs, passed away at his home on January 10, 2026.
Charles was born March 22, 1951 in Hanover County to the late Leroy and Alma Tate. Besides his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by his siblings, Annie, Mary, Lillie, Edward and Aubrey.
Charles is survived by his son, Brian Tate (Megan); two granddaughters, Allison and Alyssa Tate; a sister, Louise Hooper; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Charles, known as “Uncle Pop” to many, loved watching wrestling, playing slots, and hanging out with his family and friends who would pick him up and take him out for may adventures.
A graveside service will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd, Hanover, VA 23069.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful people who helped take care of Uncle Pop and did so much for him.
