Mrs. Cynthia Patricia Simpson, 73, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, in Williamsburg, Virginia—the city where she was born and where she spent her life surrounded by those she loved.
Born on November 11, 1952, Cynthia was the daughter of the late George and Catherine Harper. She grew up in a close-knit, loving family and carried the values of strength, compassion, and devotion throughout her life.
Cynthia’s legacy lives on through her children, Frederick Harper, Dewayne Simpson, Willie Simpson, and Kimberlee Jones (Clarence). She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Robert Simpson.
She was a proud grandmother to 17 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to 14 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
Cynthia shared deep and enduring bonds with her siblings, Barbara Harper, Jackie Jones (Fred), William Harper (Jackie), Donna Sudderth (Terry), Cleo Harper, and Marilyn Johnson. She also held dear the memory of her brother, Thomas Harper.
Her life was enriched by the love of many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who were touched by her kindness, warmth, and unwavering support.
A Memorial Service will be held on December 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Whiting’s Funeral Home.
