Jimmy Wayne Gunn, 85, received his complete healing and returned to the Lord on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
He was born in the countryside of Southwest Virginia in 1940 to parents, Samuel and Lorena Gunn. As a teen, he attended Dublin High School.
Jimmy later graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech) in 1963 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
He was a long-time employee of Supervisor of Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA where he eventually retired in 1994.
Jimmy was a loving husband, father, and devoted Christian who cherished the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Over the years, he served in various capacities within the church body, including the position of Sunday School teacher and office of Deacon.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his brothers J.C. Gunn and William Gunn; his sister, Dora Lee Berryhill and Joyce Berry.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Frances; his son, Christopher Gunn and his daughter, Debra Shaffer.
