It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Davy “Ricky” Gay of New Kent County, who left this world peacefully on November 22, 2025, surrounded by the people who cherished him most.
Ricky believed in helping others whenever he could, and finding joy in the simple, meaningful moments of everyday life.
Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Lillian (Red) Gay; his brother, James and his wife Connie; his best friend and twinkle in his eye – his grandson, Skyler Brown; along with stepchildren, nieces and nephews that were all very dear to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sarah; his sisters, Emma Davis and Peggy Faulkner; and brothers William, Robert, and Julian Gay.
He found great joy in woodworking and piddling in his garage workshop, relaxing with a Pepsi in his recliner with his beloved cat, Sox, playing the slots and traveling. Ricky’s gentle presence will remain a lasting blessing to everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 4 PM to 6 PM at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140 where family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor his legacy. Interment will be private at Washington Memorial Park.
Though he has left our sight, he will never leave our hearts. Ricky’s love and his spirit will continue to shine, guiding us all to live life to the fullest.
