Sang Mee Scott passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025 in Poquoson, Virginia, at the age of 59. Born on February 3, 1966 in Korea, she brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.
Sang Mee dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a compassionate caregiver in the medical field. Her gentle nature and kind spirit touched the lives of many patients and their families. Beyond her professional life, Sang Mee was a talented artist with a passion for painting, sewing, and knitting. She generously shared her love for art by teaching classes at senior centers, where she inspired many with her creativity and patience.
Her artistic talents extended to creating beautiful stuffed animals and intricate paper tole pieces, which she often gifted to friends and family. Sang Mee’s love for travel enriched her life and provided endless inspiration for her artwork. Her generous heart and thoughtful gifts left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Sang Mee was preceded in death by her father, Hankyu Lee; her mother, Bongyi Kuk; and her brother, Sangil Lee. She is survived by her devoted husband of 20 years, Jonathon Scott; her five children; her brother, Sanghoon Lee; her sisters, Sanglan Lee and Sangkyung Lee; and her two adored grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and countless friends who will miss her dearly.
Known for her friendly demeanor and warm smile, Sang Mee had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever she went. Her presence brightened every room, and her kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service to celebrate Sang Mee’s life will be held at a later date. Her family invites all who knew her to join in honoring her memory and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
