Thomas Robert Ross, affectionately known as “TR,” passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 37. Born on November 20, 1987, in Norfolk, Virginia, TR embraced life with a rare mix of skill, humor, and heart, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
TR was generous, kind, and deeply devoted to his people. He would give without hesitation, always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear. His heart was enormous, and he wanted everyone around him to be happy and enjoy life. Charming, funny, and larger than life, TR was a diehard Pittsburgh sports fan, a fantastic cook, a talented builder, a proud father, a beloved son, and a brother to so many. He shared his wisdom, humor, and love wherever he went, creating lifelong friendships that are evident in the outpouring of love for him.
A contractor by trade and a true jack of all trades by nature, TR could fix or build just about anything he set his mind to. He approached every project with confidence, determination, and a touch of humor that made the work—and the company—something special. Beyond his profession, he carried an infectious energy that inspired those around him and made even ordinary days brighter.
A passionate Pittsburgh sports fan, TR cheered with the same intensity and loyalty that he gave to his family and friends. Above all, he was a devoted father to his daughters, Olivia and Stella. His greatest joy came from creating a home filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories for them. TR’s generosity was unmatched; whether helping friends, family, or even strangers, he always put others before himself, leaving behind countless acts of kindness as part of his legacy.
TR’s spirit, quick wit, and unwavering generosity will be deeply missed but forever remembered. He is survived by his parents, Tom and Nan Ross; his daughters, Olivia and Stella, along with their mother, Kelly Zahratka; his sister, April Salley, and her husband, Rob; his loving girlfriend, Lori Malone; and a wide circle of extended family and dear friends.
A celebration of TR’s extraordinary life will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a life lived fully and joyfully.
