Sharon Elaine “Sheri” Lance, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on August 14, 2025, in Chesapeake, VA, at the age of 67. Born on January 30, 1958, in Jacksonville, FL, Sheri was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Sheri was devoted to her family, serving as a loving homemaker who poured her heart into everything she did. She was renowned for her exquisite beadwork, crafting beautiful bracelets that were cherished by many. Her culinary skills were equally celebrated; each dish she prepared was imbued with love, particularly her famed homemade chicken salad, which delighted her family and friends. Sheri’s love for camping reflected her joyful spirit and appreciation for nature’s beauty.

Sheri’s unwavering faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a cherished friend of the Great Bridge Free Will Baptist Church community, where she had many friends and often attended services or watched online.

She was predeceased by her dear parents, Donald Crawford and Barbara Tillman, stepfather Walt Tillman, her beloved daughter Stephanie Crews, and her son. Sheri is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Paul M. Lance; her loving stepchildren, Christopher Lance and David Lance; her brother Randy Crawford; and her sister Brenda. Her warmth, generosity, and love will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Sheri’s life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11 AM at Altmeyer Funeral Home in Chesapeake, VA. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and share their memories and tributes.
