It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marian E. Belangia, a beloved Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandmother on March 20, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on September 3, 1937.
Marian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured time with her family and always put others before herself—whether during holidays or in everyday moments. She was the heart of her family, creating countless cherished memories and traditions that will live on for generations.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesse B. Belangia. She is survived by three children, Richard C. Shipley Jr. (Debbie), Karen F. Staton, and Mary Louise Fulcher (John). She was a proud grandmother of nine grandchildren, and a loving great-grandmother of twelve great-grandchildren.
Marian retired in 2004 from Huntington Ingalls after 32 years of dedicated service and later worked at Busch Gardens Williamsburg for 13 years. She was a longtime resident of Williamsburg, VA, for more than 42 years.
Marian’s kindness, love, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A Service will be held on March 28, 2025 at 11AM at Nelsen Funeral Home, Williamsburg, VA followed by a burial at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, VA at 1PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Amedisys Hospice Care, 109 Bulifants Blvd Ste B, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
