Pamela Sue Koch, born on October 29, 1957, in Hampton, Virginia, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 67.

Pamela dedicated her life to the service of others, working as a registered nurse with unwavering compassion and skill. Her career was marked by a profound commitment to healing and care, extending beyond the borders of her community. She spent a year as a medical missionary in Africa, where her dedication to nursing and helping those in need left a lasting impact.

Her love for Jesus was evident in every aspect of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her. Pamela had a heart full of kindness and a spirit that sought to care for others, whether through her professional work or personal interactions.

Outside of her vocation, Pamela found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved reading and could often be found with a book in hand. Pamela cherished the outdoors, especially the beach, finding solace and inspiration in God’s creation. She also had a passion for travel, exploring new places and cultures with curiosity and enthusiasm.

Pamela is preceded in passing by her parents George Martin and Sadie Gevena Phillips, and her sister Phyllis Kay Childress. She is survived by her daughter Amanda Thurman, brother Douglas Phillips (Faye), sister Sandra Pruitt, sister Barbara Pate (Robert), Leslie Phillips (Donna), Robert Phillips, Andy Phillips (Vicky), brother Thomas Phillips, niece Tina Myers (Mike), and a host of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and great-great-grandnieces and nephews.

Pamela’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and a life lived in service to others. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, and her boundless generosity. Though she has departed from this world, her memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
