Irene Holt, of Williamsburg, Va, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on August 13, 1947, in Denver, CO, to Osborne and Yolanda Lenthall.

Her Catholic faith kept her grounded, and she was deeply devoted to Jesus, finding strength and guidance in her beliefs throughout her life. She LOVED her God! Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, shaping her actions, her kindness, and her unwavering love for those around her. She found immense joy in prayer, attending Mass, and living a life that reflected God’s grace. She believed in the power of faith, and her love for God shone through in every aspect of her life, from the way she nurtured her family to the kindness she extended to everyone she met.

Her love for mahjong and time with her close friends kept her competitive. She was known for her quick comebacks, warm hugs, and her ability to turn any family gathering into a feast!

Irene had a distinguished 32-year career as a legal secretary, legal assistant, and a paralegal in the Real Estate and Litigation sections of the Virginia Beach City Attorney’s Office. She performed her duties with integrity, honor, and commitment, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Her dedication and professionalism left a lasting impact on the legal community.

Irene leaves behind her beloved husband of 60 years, Ronald, who somehow managed to keep up with her wit and wisdom. She was the fiercely protective and endlessly loving mother of Kimberlie (William) and Edward (Carmen), the doting grandmother to Alexa (Nick), Hunter, and Kate, and the proud great-grandmother of three whirlwind young men-James, Samson, and Ezekiel. She adored her family-always supporting and guiding them with love and wisdom. They brought her boundless joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her family was her heart, and she poured love into every embrace, every story shared, and every lesson imparted.

Irene will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Feb 25, 2025, at Saint Bede Catholic Church, Williamsburg, Va, at 11:00 a.m.
