Brian Allen Johnston from Burlington, Vermont, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 15, 2025, while resting peacefully in his daughter’s home. As we all knew Brian as Pops, PopPop or Bulldog, he was full of life and tackled it head on.

Brian was retired from Newport News Shipyard (NNS) as a licensed master electrician. Pops enjoyed hunting, fishing, training dogs and raising pups at Run-N-Wild Kennels.

Brian was preceded in death by Mother, Cecile and Father, Gordon Johnston, daughter Heather Howard; and two grandchildren, Grant Gisclaire and Aubrey Faith Johnston.

Brian is survived by his sister, Sandra Durham; his daughters, Hayley Johnston of Newport News, Betty Grimmett-Barrett of Hampton, Kimberly Pearson of Newport News and sons, Brian Johnston, II of Gloucester, Virginia,Blake Napier of Hampton, and Adam Arbogast of Williamsburg, Virginia. Also surviving Brian are many nieces, nephews, cousins and grandchildren: Kaylyn Gisclaire, Kamden Franks, Aiden Howard, Chase Johnston, Jordan Valdes, Hannah Johnston, Kendall Johnston, Jake and Abby Arbogast, Jace Grimmett, Kenzie Evans, Josslynne Cross, Xavier Pearson, Aubrey and Jake Napier, Ceirra Barker, Brandon Barker,and Drew Barker; Great-Grandchildren: Gavin Johnston, Leilani Valdes, Cael and Hunter Grimmett.

In Pop’s memory, the family would like all donations to be made to Liberty Baptist Church in his honor. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Liberty Baptist Church in Hampton. All Family and Friends welcome.
