Dawn Michelle Joyner Bolt, 52, passed away peacefully at her home in Lanexa, Virginia, on December 1, 2024.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas “Tommy” Bolt; her cherished daughter, Brooke Shaw; and her adored grandsons, Silas and Gavin. Dawn also leaves behind her devoted mother, Debbie Bolt; her stepfather, David Bolt; her sister, Devan Cutchin; and her brother, Doug Joyner. She was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Joyner, whom she now joins in eternal rest.
Dawn found the love of her life in Tommy, and together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Their partnership was one of mutual respect, devotion, and shared joy, serving as a testament to the power of true love.
Dawn shared an unbreakable bond with her daughter, Brooke, who she considered her greatest joy and proudest achievement. Miles and distance could never separate the love between them. She was endlessly proud of Brooke and often spoke of her deep admiration and love for her.
Dawn was a remarkable woman who embodied intelligence, determination, and grace. She pursued her passion for accounting by returning to school later in life, earning her Bachelor of Science degree, and fulfilling her goal of becoming an accountant. Her hard work and dedication were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Dawn’s life was full of creative pursuits and cherished moments. She had a talent for DIY projects, often refinishing furniture and making crafts. She adored the outdoors, whether hiking, fishing, snow skiing, or visiting the beach and mountains. An avid antique shopper, Dawn delighted in finding unique treasures to decorate her home. She spent hot summer days relaxing by the pool alongside her three Great Pyrenees dogs, Zoe, Ranger, and Roxy.
She lived a healthy and active lifestyle, prioritizing fitness and mindful eating. Journaling and writing daily brought her clarity and comfort, allowing her to reflect and cherish life’s blessings. Dawn also found her greatest solace in her faith, reading her Bible and listening to sermons every day. She placed her trust in the Lord, drawing strength and guidance from her unwavering relationship with Him.
Known for her positivity and optimism, Dawn had a unique ability to find good in every situation. Her bright outlook on life and ability to uplift those around her were gifts to all.
Dawn’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, remarkable drive, and determination. Her strong spirit and compassionate heart touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving a lasting impact that will never fade. Dawn’s memory will forever be cherished, and her love, resilience, and faith-filled spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A Celebration of Dawn’s Life will take place on Wednesday, December 18th, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at LifePointe Christian Church, located at 8841 Richmond Road, Toano, VA 23168.
