Robert “Bob” Joseph Naggy, 90, of Virginia Beach

Robert Joseph Naggy “Bob”, 90 years old. Born January 1, 1934 on the family farm in King and Queen County, Virginia and passed peacefully with family at his bedside on November 1st, 2024 at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.

A longtime resident of Virginia Beach, Bob spent his early life on the farm. Upon moving to West Point, VA, he attended Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic School and graduated from West Point High School. Bob served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Old Dominion University, known as William and Mary satellite campus at the time.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Florence Naggy as well as his sister Mildred Hite, all of West Point, VA. He was widowed twice. Married to his first wife, Margaret “Peggy” Naggy for 44 years before her death in 2001. His second wife, Marilyn Jacobson passed in 2021 after 15 years of marriage. He is survived by children Elizabeth Reese and her husband Bert, James Naggy and his wife Kristina, and Emily Clark and her husband Jessie. Bob is also survived by grandchildren Amy Voorhees (Joe), Holly O’Konek (Lee), Jacob Naggy and Joe Naggy. Kelsey Clark and Micah Clark. Great grandchildren Avery, Jocelyn, and Autumn Voorhees, Lawson and Mable O’Konek and another little girl due in the spring. Bob also had 5 very special nephews and their families.

He was loved and surrounded by a multitude of friends near and far, reminding them how much they meant to him by sending stacks of Christmas cards each year.

His greatest love and joy was his family. Gatherings large and small, he was there no matter where the celebration was happening. He had the most fun being on the water fishing or just cruising in his boat.

Bob was devoted to his Catholic faith. He served as an altar boy in West Point and was a past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 9056 at St Gregory’s. He also attended Holy Family Catholic Church.

The family would like to thank the Nursing Staff at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital, especially Sophie and Jaclyn whose kindness and compassion will never be forgotten.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St Gregory the Great Catholic Church on Friday November, 15th at 1100.

Graveside blessing and burial will be held 11:00 AM at St Theresa Catholic Cemetery in West Point, VA on Saturday, Nov 30, 2024.

Memorial donations may be made in Bob’s name to vigilantwatchinc.org or to St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church or Church of the Holy Family.
