David Lee Sadler went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 27, 2024, at the age of 63.
Although he was born in Detroit, Michigan and had roots in West Virginia, David was a resident of Williamsburg most of his life. He grew up in Toano and attended Lafayette High School.
David started working at an early age, first in hospitality and then later with Doug Clarke who mentored him as a general contactor, and David was proud to maintain his Class A Contractor’s License throughout his life, even after returning to the hospitality industry.
David had a thirst for life! He loved NASCAR and drove a race car as part of the Richard Petty Driving Experience, he has scuba dived and always wanted to sky dive. Most people don’t know that he has also obtained his pilot’s license.
David met Mary Lou, his wife of 37 years, when he was only 17 and she was the love of his life. Together they built their business Carlton Hospitality, went on countless adventures, and raised Mary Lou’s daughter Shannon.
He is preceded in death by his parents James Lee and Henrietta Eloise Baird Sadler and his brother James Lee Sadler, Jr.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lou, their daughter Shannon (Chris), grandchildren, Will and Sarah along with cherished cousins, nieces and extended family.
A service Celebrating David’s life will be held at Bucktrout Funeral home on Friday, August 2. Visitation with the family will be at noon with a service at 1 p.m.
