Daryl “Patrick” McGowan, 35, of West Point, VA passed away unexpectantly July 6, 2024.
Patrick graduated from West Point High School, was a former employee of WestRock and a current employee of Premier Tech.
Patrick loved spending time with his two best buddies, Parker and Paxton. They shared a special saying with each other “I love you more than all the stars in the world.” They would tell this to each other a million times when they were together. Stars eventually changed into all the dinosaurs, cookies, clouds, etc.
Patrick loved to cook and spend time with family and friends. He was one of a kind with a huge heart. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar, deer hunting and was preparing for a new adventure involving waterfowl hunting.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy McGowan; paternal grandparents, Charles McGowan and Bessie Wray Cannon; his maternal grandfather, Henry Kopacki and an aunt, Johnna Ray Adams.
Patrick is survived by the loves of his life, his two sons, Paxton and Parker McGowan; his mother, Janice McGowan; a sister, Holly McGowan, a brother, Andrew McGowan (Kelly); his grandmother, Marian Kopacki; two nephews, Collin and Jack Lewis; two aunts, Sherry Allmond (Lenny) and Beverly Farmer; uncles Jonathan Kopacki, Eugene Kopacki (Bonnie) and C.L. McGowan; and numerous other cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 15th at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 3570 King William Avenue, West Point, Va 23181. Interment will follow in St. Teresa Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA 23181.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been set up for Patrick’s two sons, Paxton and Parker McGowan at United Bank, PO Box 859, West Point, VA 23181.
