Alvin was baptized at an early age and joined Samaria Baptist Church. He served there for many years as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and assisted with the church’s AV system. He also sang with the Samaria Messengers, travelling all over spreading God’s message in song.
Alvin enjoyed all things food related. He loved grilling, discussing and trying new recipes. Alvin was a member of Chickahominy Indian Tribe. He was also a member of Cattail Hunt Club until his health prevented him from hunting. However, he would drive out and park to listen to the hunt from afar. He worked for ER Carpenter for many years as a supervisor. Later, he changed careers and became a truck driver, a job through which he made friends everywhere he delivered. He is missed and dearly loved by all those who knew him.
