Margaret “Margie” Curran passed away at home surrounded by love on June 22, 2024.
Margie will always be remembered for her vibrant spirit, gentle kindness, and dedication to her family.
Margie was born in New Jersey and attended Lakeland High School in New York. After high school, she graduated from the New York Phoenix School of Design where she studied visual arts and graphic design. While working in the Art Department at Kraus Thomson Organization, she met her husband, Jim, to whom she was married for 45 years.
Margie was passionate about her family, even while fulfilling her role as “the enforcer” during her sons’ teenage years. She loved music of all kinds, and often played the guitar and sang to entertain her grandchildren as well as other children in the family.
Margie was known for her healthy lifestyle and enjoyed exercise in all forms. She was a lover of good food and together with Jim hosted frequent gatherings at their beach house. Margie easily made friendships near and far, and she will be greatly missed by many.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Audrey.
She is survived by her husband and best friend, Jim, her two sons Daniel (Nicole) and Kevin (Caetlyn), grandsons Owen and Evyn, granddog Oliver, grandcat Panda Bear, siblings Catherine and Norman, as well as many nieces, nephews and other close relatives.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 20, 2024 at Ford’s Colony Country Club, 240 Ford’s Colony Drive, Williamsburg, VA from 12-4 pm.
