Gayla Virginia Kelley Adams, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2024, surrounded by family. She was the youngest of 9 children, born to Calvin Layton and Mary Oma Kelley on July 29, 1951, in Williamsburg, Va.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 45+ years, Charles Adams, Sr.; daughters, Rhiannon Boatwright (Thomas), Misty Russell, Tammy McKeoun (Teddy); sons, Cody Adams (Brittany), Charles Adams, Jr; grandchildren, Veda, Brody, Paige, Madison, Jacob, Leanna (Jason), Jordan (Mya), Tristan Sr. (Emily), T.J. (Lynn); great grandchildren, Everleigh, Tristan Jr, Allanah.
Gayla loved people and most people knew her as “Penny”. She found great joy in helping others. Penny loved to talk and never met a stranger. Penny was blessed to have family members help care for her at home. Her family was grateful for the caring staff from VCU Health-Hospice at Home by BAYADA. The family appreciates your prayers at this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 9770 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, Va. from 2pm to 4 pm.
