Tyler Josiah “Scrappy” Forbes, aged just 7 days, left this world on April 23, 2024, leaving behind a legacy as vibrant as his fighting spirit. Born on April 16, 2024, in Norfolk, VA, Scrappy brought immeasurable joy and strength during his brief time with us.
Even in utero, Tyler proved to be a force to be reckoned with, giving his mom a run for her money by kicking his little legs and keeping everyone on their toes. He made sure to let his mom know how much he loved when she ate apples and peanut butter Uncrustables by kicking up a storm. He listened to the tunes of Hillsong United with his parents as well, creating sweet memories that will forever echo in the hearts of his parents, Brian and Elaine Forbes.
Tyler was not one to shy away from stirring things up. His older Beagle brother Joey, knowing a kindred spirit when he saw one, gravitated towards him, always by his side, even before they officially met. With a tenacity that belied his age, Tyler also gave his nurses quite the workout, showing his feisty nature by kicking with all his might. As a result, he was lovingly nicknamed “Scrappy”.
Tyler is survived by his parents, Brian and Elaine Forbes, Grandmother (Lola) Milagros Sayno, uncles Jonathan and Scott Forbes, and auntie Angela Bang, who are left with memories of a baby boy who may have been with them for just a week but made an impact that will last a lifetime.
Though his time on earth was short, Scrappy’s presence will forever be felt, a testament to the strength and resilience of a soul that shone bright in the briefest of moments. May his feisty spirit live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to have known him and love him.
