Mildred D. Milby, 87, of the Masonic Home of Virginia, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Herbert Milby Sr.
She is survived by her two children, son Herbert Milby Jr. and wife Susan; and daughter Brenda Kidd and husband Keith. She was known as “Nanny” to her 5 grandchildren, Jessica and Spencer Stone, Sarah and Peter Billeter, Brittany and Joshua Stanley, Emily and Dylan Thorne and Jonathan and Kaitlyn Milby; and 14 great-grandchildren, Rylan, Kayden, Harper, Laura, Brooklyn, Calvin, Chaley, Macie, Braeden, Keaton, McKinley, Elliott, Jayce and Asher. She is also survived by her sister, Ruby Styles, many nieces and nephews and close friends at the Masonic Home.
She was a member of Poroporone Baptist Church and Women on Missions. She joined River View Chapter #69 OES in 1978 and served as Grand Representative to Minnesota (1997-98), Grand Electa (2000-01) and Worthy Matron on six occasions.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 2 p.m. at Poroporone Baptist Church, Shacklefords, Va. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with an Order of the Eastern Star memorial service beginning at 6 pm at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th St., West Point, Va.
