Noreen Ann Laccheo, 67, of Newport News, VA, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024.
She was born in Pittsfield, MA to Eugene R. and Sally A. Trombly. She graduated from Lee High School in Lee, MA in 1974 where she was known for her clarinet playing in the school’s marching band. She went on to graduate from Westbrook College in Portland, ME with an Associate’s Degree in medical assisting in 1976 where she was a member of the basketball team there for two years.
Noreen worked as a medical assistant from 1976 to 1983 for both Dr. Barry, an OB-GYN in Pittsfield, MA, as well as Dr Shattuck, a pediatrician, in Portsmouth, NH. She spent over 32 years working as an administrative program manager for the US government with the Department of the Air Force, the Defense Contract Audit Agency, and NASA from 1985 until her retirement in 2017.
Noreen was passionate about her family (especially her grandchildren), crafting, decorating, and cooking for others. She will always be remembered for her warm heart, her kind spirit, her ability to make others feel comfortable in any given situation, her impeccable handwriting, and her magnificent gift wrapping skills.
Noreen was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Sally Trombly of Lee, MA. She is survived by her husband, Matthew W. Laccheo of Newport News, VA; her brother, Doug Trombly and her sister-in-law, Lorita, and her nephew Ryan of Lee, MA; her sister, Jeaneen TenBoreck of Pittsfield, MA; her son, Sean Navin and his wife, Jessica of Williamsburg, VA; her daughter, Sarah Ebert and her husband, Greg of Yorktown, VA; and her grandchildren, Evan and Norah Ebert, and Colin, Charles, and Zoe Navin.
There will be a celebration to honor Noreen’s life in the coming months.
