Henry Temple Gregory, 97, of King William VA, passed away peacefully at his home, Woodbury, on the Mattaponi river January 8, 2024.

Henry was born on October 21, 1926 at Sweet Hall, Virginia, to the late Deucalion and Louise V. Gregory. Henry was also preceded in death by his brother, Deucalion Gregory Jr. and sisters, Maria G. Dunn and Sallie G. Hubble, and a special nephew, Hugh S. Johnson.

Henry is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Mollie Gregory; nephews and nieces Warren Timberlake (Judy), Bruce Johnson (Kay), Reed West (Terrie), Louise Wright (Ray), Penne’ Parker, Nancy Johnson, Lela Denton, and Jane Sawyer (Don); numerous great-nephews and great-nieces to include Troy Johnson (Stacy), Bryan Johnson (Tara), and Kim Lipscomb (Chris). He leaves behind some special friends, Elaine Dean, Bill South, Darlene Woodward and Doug and Lisa Simms.

Henry was a lifetime resident of King William County who attended King William Public Schools and was a member of Jerusalem Church. Henry was a World War II Veteran serving in the South Pacific. He loved his family and his neighbors at Woodbury, where he lived most of his life. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, fishing, and duck hunting on the Mattaponi River. Henry enjoyed retirement from 1986-present.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16 at Jerusalem Christian Church, 1902 Powhatan Trail, King William, VA, with burial following in the church cemetery.
