Robert “Bob” Allen Porter, 70, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the VA Palliative Care Facility in Hampton, VA.
Bob was a native of Isle of Palms, South Carolina and a Yorktown resident since 1987. He retired from the United States Army in 2012 after over 30 years of service.
Bob was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling, listening to and playing music (bagpipes), history (genealogy and military history), and going to the beach.
He was preceded in death by his mother (Helen), father (John Sr.), aunt (Elsie), and younger brother (William).
Bob is survived by his wife DeAnn, two sons Adam & John, daughter Sara (and son-in-law Adam Frantz), brother John (wife Linda) Porter, sister Kendra Seidle, cousin Emily (husband Steve) Kouris, and many cousins, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023 in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Yorktown, VA.
