Bethlene Madge Ruff Fitzpatrick, age 88, passed away on November 20, 2023 in Newport News, VA.
Born on October 9, 1935 in Sandstone, WV, she was the daughter of the late Fred Ruff and Zada Morrison. A graduate of Mount Hope High School, she married her late husband Samuel Price Fitzpatrick on April 17, 1955 and traveled with him during his time in the US Army Transportation Corps.
She was a homemaker to her husband and 5 children, Samuel Fitzpatrick Jr, Fred Fitzpatrick, Michael Fitzpatrick, Vanessa Gail Fitzpatrick and Virgil Fitzpatrick.
They officially settled down in Newport News, VA in 1977 when her husband retired from the Army, where she enjoyed playing bingo, doing various arts and crafts, as well as reading many romance novels. If not doing that, you could find her watching various game shows on her TV, or cooking large meals for family and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her brothers Lloyd, Henry, David, Donald, Jimmy and Edwin Ruff and Allen Morrison, David Morrison, Sr; By sisters Drema Kessler, Arlena McCoy, Joyce Crawford, Martha and Hilda Ruff.
Left to cherish her memory are her 5 children, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, her half sister Wilda Adamini half brothers Phillip, Joe, and Lonnie Morrison and extended family.
