Orene B. Coffman, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, peacefully passed away on August 12, 2023, in Florida at the age of 85. Born on March 24, 1938, in Virginia, Orene lived a life characterized by love and dedication to her family.
Professionally, Orene found fulfillment in her role as a Hospitality Manager for the esteemed Williamsburg Inn. Her commitment to excellence and warm demeanor made her an invaluable asset to the establishment, leaving a lasting impact on both colleagues and guests.
Orene’s spiritual journey was deeply rooted in her faith, as she attended and was a devoted member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church. Through her church community, she found solace, support, and a sense of purpose.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Mack H. Coffman, as well as her parents, Adele and John Burton, a brother, and a sister. Although she may be gone from this world, her memory will forever be cherished by those who loved her.
Orene’s legacy lives on through her son, Norman J. Emerson, and daughter-in-law, Ana M. Emerson. She was a proud grandmother to Brenda A. Emerson and Jennifer A. Lucas, who brought immense joy and happiness to her life. Orene is also survived by her siblings Bonnie Emerson, John Burton, and Sybil Johnson.
A graveside service to celebrate Orene’s life will take place on Saturday, August 19, at 11 a.m. at Sunny Slopes Cemetery in West Point, VA. This will be a time for family, friends, and loved ones to come together, share stories, and honor the beautiful life she led.
