Samuel “Bruce” Snider, Jr., beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed peacefully into the loving arms of his Savior on July 26, 2023, at the age of 68. Born on November 3, 1954, in the heartwarming lands of North Carolina, Bruce brought sunshine into the lives of those around him with his quick wit and warm smile. His passing, though deeply lamented, shall not overshadow the vibrant and remarkable life he led.
Bruce was a man of many talents, dedicating his years to the artistry of construction. As a builder, he left a legacy, creating homes that stood tall and proud, just like the man himself. Whether it was laying down foundations or raising walls, Bruce put his heart into every project and left behind countless landmarks that will continue to inspire awe for years to come.
When Bruce wasn’t hard at work, you could often find him pursuing his favorite pastimes, bowling, fishing and gardening. With his bowling ball in hand, he effortlessly knocked down pins with his skillful precision, leaving competitors shaking their heads in admiration. He was seeking his second 300 game. And when the waters called, Bruce would eagerly cast his line, patiently waiting for that elusive big catch while enjoying the serenity of nature. He loved to tend his garden where he found peace and relaxation. He was also known for his stories and jokes, always trying to lighten the mood and bring a smile to those in his company. He was a follower of Christ and valued his friendships.
In the company of his cherished family and friends, Bruce found joy and contentment. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Diana Snider, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Together they built a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Bruce is survived by his daughter, Amy Clements and husband, Brian, son, Sam Snider and wife Sarah, son, Shawn Snider and daughter, Karen Williams and husband Tim, as well as 10 grandchildren, who were the pride of his existence, each carrying a piece of his spirit into the future. He also leaves behind mother, Vera Snider and sister, Chris Snider, a constant source of support and affection.
Samuel “Bruce” Snider, Jr. now joins his father, Samuel B. Snider, Sr. in the eternal embrace of heaven. Their spirits will forever guide and watch over those left behind, ensuring that their love and influence endure.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Altmeyer Funeral Home on August 7, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will also be held there on August 8, 2023 at 10:00 am. Following the service, Bruce will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at 11 am.
