Kenneth Robert Keller was born September 2, 1932 in Hackensack, NJ. He served at sea in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked his way through college and graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Master’s degree in Physics.
A career-driven man, he worked tirelessly in early semiconductor manufacturing technology research, opto-electronic systems, robotics, and other advanced technological pursuits. Born into humble beginnings, his career drive was motivated by a core desire to provide for his family, which he did well. Ken was a man of high ethics, which he instilled in his children.
He was married to Judith Ann Vandegrift on September 24, 1965. They have remained as dedicated husband and wife throughout their lives. Most recently, Judy has supported Ken in his last chapters of declining health and dementia. She has served him with full dedication, loyalty, and unconditional love.
Ken is survived by his wife Judy, his eldest son Mark Robert Keller, and his youngest son Scott Alan Keller. Ken’s youngest brother, Jack also remains here on Earth.
Ken’s legacy lives on in his two grandsons, Maxwell Robert Keller and Jackson Tyler Keller.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1801 Baltic Avenue in Virginia Beach.
