On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, our mother, Joyce Ann Whitby, peacefully passed away in Sandford, North Carolina. She was born on November 24, 1946, to Nathaniel Whitby and was raised by him and his wife, Sally H. Whitby.
Joyce is predeceased by her parents and daughter, Beverly Whitby.
She is survived by her sons, Kirk (Caron) and Terry; daughters, Angela and Cheryl; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Leontine D. Brown (Moses); special friend, James Battle; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service. Ms. Whitby may be viewed in the funeral home beginning at 1 p.m. until the hour of her service.
