Thomas Willard Revere, Sr., 87, affectionately known as PaPaw, of Plain View, Va. passed away surrounded by his family on March 28, 2023.
He was the son of the late Willard and Lucy Revere. Thomas was a field engineer and retired from Revere Group Industrial.
Thomas was an avid sports fan who loved the Redskins and Dodgers. He enjoyed working out in his yard, where he loved to watch the beautiful hummingbirds. Thomas also loved betting on horse racing and a good scratch-off ticket (especially if it was a winner!). Above all else, he loved spending time surrounded by his family. Thomas and his wife Shelby spent countless hours relaxing on their front porch over the years, and it remained a treasured spot for all of the children, grand-children, and even great-grandchildren to gather together.
He was preceded in death by his son, Donnie Revere; two brothers, one sister, and his beloved cat, “Molly”. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shelby Revere; six children, Thomas Revere, Jr. (Linda), Terry Jackson (Jerry), Diane Byrd, Donna Gilleland (Jack), Jamie Revere (Marcie), Sandy Newcomb (Lee); five grandchildren, Patrick, Christopher, Skylar, Alex, Max; four great-grandchildren, Haileigh, Jameson, Lily, Jamie; and the family dog, LuLu.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, Va. The funeral service will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.
