Kenneth John Winter, 71, of Williamsburg

Kenneth John Winter died on March 8, 2023. He was born in Hartford, CT and grew up with his parents, Raymond and Alice Winter and 12 brothers and sisters in Tennessee and New Hampshire.

Kenneth received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of New Hampshire and an MBA from Suffolk University. He had a distinguished 38 yr. career with the Federal Government. Beginning his career with the General Accountability Office, he also worked for DOD, the US Mint, and ended his career as Dept. CFO of NASA headquarters and CFO of NASA Langley. Kenneth also served on the Federal Accounting and Standards Advisory Board and was a member of the Association of Government Accountants. Following his retirement, he followed his passion for educating by teaching federal employees on government accounting practices.

His passions were golf, golf, and more golf, teaching, spending time with family and trying to balance the federal budget.

Kenneth’s surviving family members include his wife of 48 years, Cheryl; children, Eric and Sara; grandchildren, Mairi, Lily and Maeve; son-in-law, Nigel; daughter-in-law, Catriona; mother Alice; brothers, Paul, Doug, and Richard; sisters, Betsy, Katie, Janet, Christine, Claire, Laurie, and Rae Marie; and so many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of a memorial service, we invite you to celebrate his life and yours. Everyone adored him. He brought us all so much joy and he lived each day with a passion for life and a twinkle in his eye.
