Elnora Neal Barrs, 82, passed away on February 4, 2023. She was born in Texas to the late Willie and L.E. Neal.
Elnora is preceded in death by parents and husband Greal Barrs.
She is survived by her son Douglas E Smith (Beverly); grandchildren Trina Canady (Rodney) of Texas, Christopher Smith (Tanisha) of Texas, Ashley Mills (Jason) of North Carolina; a host of great grandchildren.
Elnora was a faithful member of St Edwards Baptist Church of Austin Texas for over 40 years. She was known for her strong independence, cooking and baking, thrifty shopping, and spending quality time with her family whom she loved dearly.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 10:30-11am followed by a service at 11am at Altmeyer Funeral Home Denbigh Chapel 12893 Jefferson Ave. Newport News, VA 23608. Burial will take place at 1pm at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
